As
promised in the plans for the recently improved Business Improvement
District (BID) that covers approximately 100 tax parcels in downtown
Oxford , OMI has re-structured its Board of Directors to include
significantly increased representation from business and property
owners within the BID. OMI's Board elected the following individuals
to its Board of Directors:
Patrick
Curran, Prudential Realtors
Chris
Drennen, Oxford Feed & Lumber
Geoff
Henry, Mayor of Oxford
Ed
Harshaw, THF Paradign Health International
Wilson
King, Outback Trading Company
Anne
Lolli, Serendipitea
Aron
Ireland, National Penn Bank
Jim
Price, Property Owner
Gabe
Vattilana, Property and Business Owner
It
is significant to note that all of the newly elected Board members
are either downtown property owners or involved in the day to
day operations of a downtown business or organization. They will
join 11 other Board members, 4 of whom are also either property
owners or business operators.
In
order to make Board positions available, the Board of OMI accepted
the resignations of several Board members who have served the
downtown community well. These individuals are:
Jamie
Ciarrocchi, Sher Rockee Mushrooms
Larry
Drennen, Jr.
George
Duncan, Beiler-Campbell Realtors
Terrence
Ferrell, Chester County Commissioner
Carl
Fretz, The Peoples Bank of Oxford
Randy
Lieberman, Chester County Press
Curtis
Mason, Entrepreneur
Frank
Tipton, Tipton Trucking Company, Inc.
John
H. Ware, IV, Oxford Borough Council
Also,
OMI recognized the service of two Board members in particular.
Carl Fretz and John H. Ware, IV were elected to position of Director
Emeritus. Both individuals have long records of service to Oxford
Borough and were founding members of OMI.
The
Board also approved a 2008 work plan and operating budget. Both
of these will be under review by the restructured Board as it
begins the process of becoming familiar with OMI's operations
and helps the organization to chart a new course for the future
of downtown Oxford . One of the first projects which is being
planned is a meeting open to all business and property owners;
the purpose of the meeting is to present OMI's plans and to obtain
input on how best to improve the business climate in the BID.
These meetings are being planned for Spring 2008.
The
staff support of OMI will continue to include Hugh Garchinsky,
Manager and Christine Grove, Marketing and Promotions.
